On April 27, 2024, Pack 620’s Lion and Tiger Dens visited the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg to bring items that the Scouts and their families had collected as part of a service project. Over the past two months, the Scouts had been collecting items that the animals needed. This included gently used blankets and towels from their families, friends, neighbors, and local hotels. In addition, the Scouts collected donations of items that bears, tigers and lions like to eat such as fresh fruit and vegetables, fruit roll-ups, jumbo marshmallows, dog food, cat food, reddi-whip canned whipped cream and canned evaporated milk. (The Scouts loved that the animals liked marshmallows and whipped cream!) The Scouts also learned about the Sanctuary and their care of animals. Unfortunately, it rained really heavy that day so we didn’t get to see many animals but we’re headed back one day when the weather is nice!
